Helen eats REAL food....

This is from Helen's first bites of rice cereal. She's really embracing the whole solid food idea. So far, she's tried - sweet potato, carrots, squash, peas, tomatoes and Flounder. The flounder was her favorite but she finishes her bowl just about every time. It's about time one of them ate well.

And here's what happened when I walked away to get some wet wipes.....

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful

More from Memo and Papa's

The girls enjoyed the warm weather. Here they are having a popsicle on Memo and Papa's front stoop.

Princess Tea Party

By popular demand.....
Here are the pictures from Alice's Princess Tea Party.

Everyone wore their favorite princess clothes. I think we may have taken this one before everyone got there. In total I think it was 16 little girls. Maybe 17. They had a great time. But for the adults out there - picture this - 17 little girls plus a parent in 1500 sq feet.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I remembered to take a picture of the decorations. They were really fabulous. In fact, we just took them down a few weeks ago.

This was the tea-tray that Desiree came up with and helped me assemble. It's cups and plates. Cool, huh?

Happy Birthday! Take 2. We couldn't get the camera ready in time so we lit it again. My poor asthmatic child had to get a little help blowing the candles out.

Pre-party prep. As I always say,"It takes a lot of work to be this beautiful".

Alice's Politally Correct Winter Show

I completely forgot to put this in before. They're from Alice's Winter Show. It was going to be called the "Holiday Show" but word is someone complained that it was not 'The Holidays' for everyone so they called it the 'Winter Show'. They sang 'Jingle Bells' and 'Here Comes Suzie Snowflake'. And when I say "they" I mean everyone except Alice who just wanted to stand around looking pretty and demure, a look which she's perfected I might add.
Afterwards there was a party that was also objected to by someone for some reason but the teachers had it anyway.

Yeah, this one speaks for itself.

Happy Face

This is my favorite

This is Gigi pretending to be asleep but she doesn't really want to close her eyes.

I was trying to get some decent pictures of Gigi the other day because she's changed so much recently and it turned into a full-on photo shoot. The girl LOVES the camera.

The Evolution of Helen

Since I haven't updated in so long I thought everyone would like to see all of our pictures of Helen from Christmas up to now. She's really changed.

Cuttin' Down the Pooley Family Christmas Tree

The whole fam riding out to pick out ou tree. Unfortunately you can't always count on strangers to take good pictures. That's Helen in the red pouch.

The hunter returning with his kill.

Snow ball fights. Really they were more like ice balls. Alice kept throwing the same one at me over and over again.

More pics from the last week....

Daddy with two of his girls.

I can't believe we actually got one of Gigi smiling.

Alice and Dylan in the park. Dylan is one of Ali's friends from school.

Ring Around the Rosies. I didn't get a picture of it but they actually got the dads to play with them not too long after this. Let me tell you - if you've never seen two grown men playing Ring Around the Rosies before, you really should.

Ragamuffin Parade!

Hoboken has really great Halloween festivities for the kids but the best is the Ragamuffin Parade. Apparently they've been doing this since the 60's and now it's absolutely huge. We thought there was no way all those kids could actually live in Hoboken.

Here's Alice with two of her best buddies - Amanda (left) and Clare (right). Clare's mom actually made her costume. I wish I'd taken a full body shot because it was really great.

This is yet another of Gigi's costume choices. I thought this one actually showed some ability to coordinate.

Alice the butterfly and Sophia the bride.

This is baby Helen's costume.

Halloween Party #1

Here are the girls all dressed up for their first Halloween party of the year. This was Georgie's 3rd costume change and she still wasn't thrilled. She spends a lot of her time with that look on her face these days. Have I mentioned how much I love the 2's?

Harvest Festival

Last weekend was the Harvest Festival, here in Hoboken. As you can see, it's starting to cool down a lot. We couldn't stay long with Helen but the girls saw just about all their friends and had a great time. And, of course, no festival would be complete without a pony ride.

Helen, meet your sisters....

Alice is very excited. In this picture she's showing us her hands, ready to take the baby.

She held her for at least a half hour and when we took the baby away she was not happy.

This is what Gigi did when she realized the baby was sleeping. She was also saying "shhhhh". She also wants to hold the baby all the time but doesn't quite get how to do it.

Looks sweet, doesn't she?

Welcome Helen Elizabeth!

Helen Elizabeth Pooley arrived October 25, 2007 at 12:26pm.
She weighs 6lbs 5.5ozs and is 19inches long.
We thought she had red hair right after birth but it's starting to look very blonde.

Moments after birth and a little stunned.

I was looking for the first pictures of the girls so you could see them side by side but I can't find them. Anyway - she looks just like Alice to me but with Georgie's chin.

Here she is again.
